22-06-2025 - A hard season.

Hi All, I hope you are all keeping well in this fun heat we have been having. Walking the dog earlier, I was trying to figure out what to write about, where I will be writing about potential super bowl winners closer to the start of the season, I thought maybe today I would take a look at those teams who are going to have a hard upcoming season.

So to start with, The Tennasee Ttians. I can't look much beyond the TItans as a starting point. A 3-14 record in last years regular season puts them front and centre for another possible season of defeats, they did get the first pick in the draft with Cam Ward, but its alot to put on someone who is fresh into the league as we saw recently with Bryce Young. It does seem however that the Titans are aware of their short comings and are trying to address these with new coaches, strategy etc, time will tell if its enough.

There were two other teams with a 3-14 season in 2024, the New York Giants and the Denver Broncos. I have more belief that the Giants have a better upcoming season than the Broncos. They have brought in vast experience in the shape of Russell Wilson from the Steelers and no3 draft pick Abdul Carter will help on the defensive side of things, so I would think they will be a tougher proposition to beat than the previous season.

Or it could be a new team that has a hard season and im totally off, maybe the Eagles 😉 Take it easy.

16.06.2025 - Bryce Young

Hi All, getting a bit toasty over here in the UK, ive decided I dont like the heat, much rather it was winter, plus thats when all the best sport is on. So this post, im going to write about Bryce Young. Alot was made when Young was number 1 pick in the 2023 draw. I was really excited to see what he could bring to a really bad Panthers team and tbh, I think, like alot of Panthers fans, I expected too much of him. His first season was not great and sadly for him, the number 2 pick in the 2023 draft C.J Stroud was having a crazy rookie season with the Texans posting Franchise records for passing yards, touchdowns, completions and attempts.

Reading Panthers fans forums at the time was really uncomfortable, there seemed a overwhelming need to blame someone for their bad form and it would jump between the coach, to the owner to Young. The team did so poorly this season that the coach was let go and they brought in Dave Canales for the 2024 season. Young didnt play many games at the start of this campaign, but slowly made his way back into the starting lineup and his performances and confidence looked to have turned a corner. My hope is that with a good coach and some better protection, Young will start to show why he was number one pick and live up to some of his reputation.

Right im off to go sit in the freezer.

12.06.2025 - Aron Rodgers, still got it?

So, as a NFL noob, im fairly unfamiliar with the career of Aron Rodgers, though a quick YouTube review shows his clear high level of skill and ability to hit a 'hail mary' with unerring accuracy. The first time I really heard about Rodgers was when the Jets came over to the UK to play the Vikings in 2024 and my mate was really excited to see Rodgers in the flesh. Before the game I recall viewing Rodgers as a major threat, so I was extremely interested to watch him and tbh, view him as a bit of a liability during the match as throws were intercepted and he was sacked mutliple times.

A man of 40+ playing top level NFL I feel will always struggle and so it proved, so imagine my surprise when the Steelers picked the Rodgers on a free this pre season. There are many questions around this deal, will Rodgers start for the Steelers? With Russell Wilson having departed they certainly need someone. Will the Steelers style of play suit Rodgers more than at the Jets? Has he got the physical presence to maintain top level football week by week? Only time will tell.

Till next time

07.06.2025 - Sam D'Arnold.

Hello All,

Happy weekend to you, today I want to talk about Sam D'Arnold. D'Arnold first came to my attention when, as mentioned previously, I was following the Panthers, I vaguely remember the Panthers fans werent too keen on him, and in the whirlwind of trying to take in as much as I could about the NFL and excitement of a 1st pick in the shape of Bryce Young, D'Arnold slipped off my radar.

Then who was to re-appear last October but D'Arnold with the Vikings at the London game's amid a flurry of positivity, where he had a great game and then continued that with the Vikings until the end of the season where his form dipped and he was largely criticised for his performances. D'Arnold was on a short term contract with the Vikings who clearly see J. J McCarthy as their future QB, when it came to the closed season he was released and eventually signed for the Seahawks.

The turning point for D'Arnold seemed to be the season he spent with the 49'ers learning from Brock Purdy and is even quoted as benefiting from seeing how Purdy and head coach Shanahan meticulously prepared for games.

So the question is, will the Seahawks get the D'Arnold performances that the we saw for the majority of the season, or will D'Arnold suffer the same problems he did towards the end of the season? Time will tell.

03.06.2025 - UK NFL Players

Good Evening all,

While the NFL season is in its pre-season phase and news is a bit slow, I thought I would highlight some NFL players who hail from the UK (mostly) 😉

Efe Obada - Defensive End. Born April 1992, Efe lived in the UK from the age of 10 and continued to do so, playing for the London Warrior's before moving to the US and playing for The Cowboys (2015) Kansas City (2016) Atlanta Falcons (2016) Carolina Panther's (2017-2020) Buffalo Bills (2021) Washington Commanders (2022-2024)

Louis Rees-Zammit - Wide Receiver. Born in 2001, Louis was a Rugby player in the UK until he decided to make the switch to the NFL in 2024. Originally drafted by Kansas City, he was released and picked up by Jacksonville Jaguars.

Adedayo Odeleye - Defensive End. Born in 1997, Adedayo lived in the UK from 9 and played for Belin Thunder in 2021, from there he moved to play for the Houstan Texans (2022-2023) and is currently at the Baltimore Ravens (2024-present)

UK doesn't have the strongest representation in the NFL but that will surely change in the coming years with the International player pathway program and the popularity of the NFL in the UK growing.

01.06.2025 - How it began

Hello,

Exciting to see all the NFL teams social media streams going into overdrive as the pre-season starts to kick off. I have only been following the NFL for about 2 and a bit seasons, having picked up around Christmas 2022 to watch the back end of that season and running into the play-offs, my team of choice initially was the Carolina Panthers. Being someone that likes a challenge and being a bit different, I looked for the least well supported team in the UK from yougov and the Panthers came up trumps. They had an interim coach in charge and I enjoyed the of style of running game that they played, sadly at the end of the season they hired a new coach (Frank Reich I believe) and the next season was a disaster, my enjoyment and enthusiasm took a dive but speaking with some friends who I found also watched the NFL, I got a renewed sense of enjoyment from watching the games that were on the TV.

I have teams I am partial too still, the Panthers, as I would love to see them do well, the Vikings through friends but then there is a great admiration for indiviudals too, Jared Goff, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Bryce Young (I hope he comes out tops eventually) C J Stroud, Ja'marr Chase, Saquon Barkley all players I really think are exciting and I can't wait to see how the season pans out!

30.05.2025 - Colour me surprised

Morning,

Well, after yesterday's post I am a little surprised by the way ticket sales for the UK games went yesterday. Seeing an 'X' repost from Phobe Schecter yesterday saying ticket master had paused sales on the site due to high demand, imagine my surprise when I received an email yesterday at 7:15PM saying there were still tickets available?

Thoroughly confused by this, I went digging around and there were indeed still tickets to both games available, even more digging unearthed a general feeling that the increase in ticket prices from previous years seems to be putting people off, Cat 8 tickets (2nd cheapest) were up from around £88 last year to £104 and checking this morning there are still seats available, are the US teams pricing themselves out over here? or do the teams coming over this year not have the same pull? Another oddity, is that tickets for the Jaguars v the Rams went on sale seemingly last night, not consistent with the comm's that I have been recieving.... all very odd.

Will see how sales for those go today, have a great Friday!

29.05.2025 - NFL London!

Morning all,

Exciting times today as tickets for NFL London go on sale today, tickets for Vikings v the Brown's which is to be played 05/10 and the Broncos v the Jets 13/10 will be available to join the virtual waiting from 11AM UK time and then 12noon the randomly assigned queue position. This randomly assigned ticketing system is I believe, the way alot of events now allocate ticket queuing placement, last year when looking for tickets, I was placed somewhere around the 180k place in the queue, where a friend of mine who joined the waiting room at the same time was allocated place 87, so good luck if you are looking for tickets today.

There is also the opportunity to buy tickets for the Wembley game later in the week when the Rams will be playing the Jags on the 19/10 and tickets I believe go on sale for that tomorrow.

Have a great day, catch you soon.
